Srinagar, June 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, pro-India National Conference chief and former Union Minister Farooq Abdullah has acknowledged that attempts are being made to change the demographic character of the territory.
Speaking at a function to commemorate the death anniversaries of veteran NC leaders Mirza Mohammad Afzal Beg and Khwaja Ghulam Mohuiddin Shah at party headquarters in Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah without naming the BJP and other rightwing Indian parties, said, concerted attempt is under process to change the demographic character of the territory.
It is worth mentioning that veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has been consistently saying that the Indian government is making attempts to change the demography of the Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that recent remarks from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) about the abrogation of Article 370 were serious indicators of the troubles ahead of Kashmiris. The former Indian Minister said they cannot be cowed down by any secret pacts or covert alliances.
