Islamabad, June 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): Envoys designate of Myanmar, Maldives, Republic of Angola, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Kingdom of Lesotho today presented their credentials to President Mamnoon Hussain at an impressive ceremony held at the Presidency.
The Ambassadors and High Commissioners, after presenting their credentials separately called on the President and discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
The President congratulated the newly appointed envoys to Pakistan and expressed hope that they will work for further strengthening the already existing close and cordial ties of their respective countries with Pakistan in various sectors to the mutual benefit. The President also wished the newly appointed ambassadors a comfortable and productive stay in Pakistan.
The newly appointed envoys thanked the President for the warm welcome and assured that they would contribute to further strengthen and diversify ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.
Earlier, upon arrival of Mr. U WIN NAING, Ambassador-designate of Myanmar to Pakistan, Maj. Gen. (retd) Moosa Ali Jaleel, High Commissioner-designate of Maldives to Pakistan, Dr. Joao Garcia Bires, Ambassador-designate of Republic of Angola (Non-Resident), Mr. Paul Steinmetz, Ambassador-designate of Luxembourg to Pakistan (Non-Resident), Mr. Eamonn O’Shaughnessy,, High Commissioner-designate of New Zealand to Pakistan(Non-Resident) and Ms. Lebohang Ntsinyi, High Commissioner-designate of Lesotho to Pakistan(Non-Resident) at the Presidency, the National Anthems of Pakistan and their respective countries were played and the envoys were presented Guard of Honour by an elegant contingent of Pakistan Army.
