Karachi, June 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi has participated in 11th My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony, organized by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The international exhibition was held from Friday to Sunday, 20-22 June, 2014 at Karachi Expo Centre and at this Exhibition, Indonesia continues its presence which has been since 2004. “This is our gesture to always continue our support to business promotion activities in Karachi,” said Indonesian Consul General Mr. Rossalis R. Adenan.
Indonesia’s culture depicted through Indonesian Pavilion comprised of 6 (six) Indonesian product importers that has been marketed Made in Indonesia products in Karachi. Among those products were ceramic tiles, confectionary, auto spare parts, garments, soaps, cosmetics and toiletries.
Another products of 15 (fifteenth) Indonesian companies were also displayed through samples, brochures and video materials. These products were, among others, handmade quilts, massage oil, educational products, sandals, medical equipments, kitchen utensils, paper products, and packaging products.
Not only introducing business potentials, Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi also mesmerizing the visitors through traditional dancing performances on stage inside Indonesia Pavilion. 5 (five) Indonesia’s traditional dances such as Japong, Tanjung Katung, Belantek, Puspa Wresti and Poco-Poco has been shown in front of thousands of visitors who visited the pavilion during the exhibition. Several prominent Sindh government officials and businessmen, among others, Farooq Sattar, Syeda Shehla Raza, Siraj Kassim Teli, A. Abdullah Zaki, have also took the time to visit and to watch the traditional dance performance in the second and third days of the exhibition.
The uniqueness and attractiveness of Indonesian Pavilion design has stolen many visitors attention to come and to spend their times inside the pavilion. Visitors’ enthusiasms were clearly described during the exhibition.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia’s participation in the exhibition is a tangible effort and a constructive contribution to always support the business communities in Karachi to enhance the trade and business potentials with the Indonesian counterparts. Trade between Indonesia and Pakistan was recorded US$ 1,58 billion in 2013. By the implementation of Indonesia-Pakistan Preferential Trade Agreement, the two brotherly countries are forecasted to see multiple increase in bilateral trade volume in the coming future.
