Srinagar, June 19, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has denounced the PDP-BJP regime for subjecting Hurriyet leaders and activists to political victimization in every possible way to weaken their commitment to the Kashmir cause.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, also condemned life threat to Tehreek-e-Hurriyet leader Abdul Hameed Parray by Indian police and continued detention of Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi and other Hurriyet leaders. He termed PDP as an offshoot of RSS and said that the puppet regime had created an atmosphere of fear and terror in the territory. He demanded release of all illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists before Eid.
Hurriyet leaders Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Imtiaz Ahmad Reshi and a delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami led by Advocate Zahid Ali visited the bereaved families of the two youth, Altaf Ahmed and Imtiyaz Ahmed and expressed solidarity with them. The youth were martyred by Indian troops at Bomai in Sopore on Friday. In Srinagar, a report released by International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir said that 58 people lost their lives due to the excessive use of pellet and pepper guns and tear gas shelling by Indian forces in the past eight years in the territory
Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed in Islamabad town on the death anniversary of Ummat-e-Islami founder Qazi Nisar Ahmad. He was killed by unidentified gunmen on this day in nearby Dialgam village. APHC General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in a statement in Srinagar, hailed Qazi Nisar’s religious, social and political services for the people of Kashmir.
