Karachi, June 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $14,263.5 million on 20June2014.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –
i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: $ 9,189.5 million
ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : $ 5,074.0 million
iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : $ 14,263.5 million
During the week ending 20June2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $521 million to $9,190 million compared to $8,669 million in the previous week. During the week SBP received inflows from multilateral and bilateral sources amounting to $258 million, including $230 million from World Bank. SBP also received flows of over $300 million on account of privatization proceeds.
During the week ending 20 June 2014 SBP has made payments of US$232 million from its reserves on account of external debt servicing, which includes $57 million to IMF.
