Karachi, June 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): Dr. Niaz Abbasi, Home Secretary Sindh said that the attitude of the armed guards escorting VIPs are very insulting towards other road users and the gun carrying guards not only gesture rudely towards the law abiding citizens but also are violating the human rights and traffic rules.
Taking notice of the behaviour of the VIP escorts, he said that the harassment through brandishing of weapons by the personnel/guards is also uncalled for and insulting to other law abiding citizens.
The Home Secretary asked the Inspector General of Police that senior police officers and the management of private security agencies are required to keep a strict watch and ensure that the escorts’ personnel/private security guards should refrain from such indecent attitude towards the drivers of other cars, motorcycle riders and pedestrians.
Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi said that such behavior from gun carrying guards is creating a bad name for the government and also for the law enforcing agencies. The Home Secretary added that non-compliance of these instructions by the escort personnel shall be taken seriously and stern disciplinary action be initiated against the delinquents.
