Islamabad: Shehzad town police has arrested 15 persons including a woman during search operation and crackdown in its area and recovered two stolen vehicles, 1.400 kilogram hashish from them, a police spokesman said here Thursday.
SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan directed SP (Rural) Umer Hyat to launch effective crackdown against the criminal elements. A special team under the supervision of SHO Shehzad town was constituted which included Sub-Inspectors Arshad Ali, Muhammad Lateef, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Haneef, Ghulam Mustafa, Muhammad Nawaz and others. This team conducted search operation in residential areas near Sohan, Khana Dak, Zia Masjid, Shakriyal and arrested 11 suspects. Police team also raided in area at Sohan and nabbed a woman Ambreen Bibi who used to allegedly sell narcotics. Her son Muhammad Sohail managed to escape while a total of one kilogram hashish was also recovered from her.
This police team also succeeded to recover Suzuki Mehran car (RL-469) and Corolla car (LXG-6263) while three dacoits identified as Aamir, Tayyab ur Rehman and Wahab were also arrested.
Islamabad police in crackdown against criminals also nabbed three proclaimed offenders and one court absconder. Golra police arrested two proclaimed offenders, Nilore police nabbed one proclaimed offender while Koral police apprehended one court absconders.
SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of police team which arrested these criminals and further directed to accelerate efforts against the suspects and criminal elements.
