Haripur, November 14, 2014 (PPI-OT): President Harripur Chamber of Commerce and Industries has said that more than 200 industries are closed in Harripur due to energy crisis and poor law and order situation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He was addressing to the oath taking ceremony of newly elected members of harripur chamber of commerce and industries.
Showing concern on the ill situation of industries in the province, He said that more than dozen of industries have become sick in the Hattar industrial area and even more are being closed down due to power crisis and law and order situation. Un-employment is increasing in the area, young and educated people are finding difficulties to find new job opportunities in the Harripur district.
Atif said that the provincial government has not formulated a new industrial policy despite the fact that the business community had given its suggestion to formulate industrial policy. He emphasized that to end terrorism, unemployment and poverty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, government should announce new industrial policy at earliest.
At this occasion, CEO of trade development authority S.M Muneer said that industries are playing pivotal role in the economy of country; they are generating employment, paying billions of rupees to national exchequer and reducing poverty in the country. He assured the business community that sick industries of Harripur district will be revived; it will increase Pakistan’s export and reduce unemployment in the country.
