Islamabad: The Planning Committee Meeting of the Confederation of Asian Pacific Chambers of Commerce (CACCI) will take place on March 9, 2012 to finalize the program of the 26th CACCI Conference scheduled on September 6-7, 2012 in Nepal.
Mr. Tariq Sayeed, Vice President CACCI who has been designated by President CACCI Ambassador Benedicto to chair the planning Committee Meeting, left for Katmandu this afternoon. The meeting will be attended by representatives from 26 CACCI member states including representatives of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) – the host organization.
The Planning Committee Meeting chaired my Mr. Sayeed shall chalk out and finalize the program for 26th CACCI Conference, which is a regular annual venture of CACCI. The Planning committee will finalize draft program, theme, topics and speakers for 26th CACCI conference, scheduled to be held in Nepal.
Mr. Sayeed, who is also former President of FPCCI will present a proposed T.O.R. to formulate a permanent Planning Committee to undertake the task of suggesting ways and means for improvement of the functions of CACCI.
Since its establishment in 1966, CACCI has grown into a network of national chambers of commerce with a total now of 29 Primary Members from 27 countries. It cuts across national boundaries to link businessmen and promote economic growth throughout the Asia-Pacific region. CACCI is a non-governmental organization (NGO) granted consultative status, Roster Category, under the United Nations. It is a member of the Conference on NGOs (CoNGO), an association of NGOs with UN consultative status.
