50,000 acre barren land being made cultivable in Gilgit Baltistan

In Gilgit Baltistan, fifty thousand acre barren land is being made cultivable under economic transformation initiatives.

Over twelve billion rupees will be spent on this seven years long comprehensive agriculture development project.

Our Gilgit correspondent reports that out of 76 schemes, forty seven irrigation schemes of the project have been completed with an amount of 5.35 billion rupees, besides construction of 384 kilometres farm to Market roads while 2. 28 billion rupees have been earmarked for it in the current fiscal year.

Similarly, over 41,840 acre barren land has been made cultivable.
