Karachi, November 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that Shahrah-e- Pakistan was an important corridor of the city which connects central part of the city to highway therefore it was very necessary to complete construction of the four flyovers at this corridor in estimated time and construction work after Ashura Muharram should be faster to complete the projects on time.
He said this while inspecting the development works of flyovers at four different intersections at Shahrah-e-Pakistan (Corridor-V). On this occasion Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Project Directors, concerned Engineers and other officers were present.
Administrator Karachi said that he will pay sudden visits and inspect the development works himself and these projects were started for welfare of the people therefore any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
Administrator Karachi during visit reviewed the progress of construction works of Water Pump, Aisha Manzil, Dakhana and Teen Hatti and issued directives. He directed to follow traffic diversion plan especially to facilitate the citizens and prevent citizens from any incontinence during construction works.
He said that Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan was taking special interest in construction of these flyovers. During the visit at site of Aisha Manzil flyover Administrator Karachi in a briefing was informed that the construction work of four flyovers at Shahrah-e-Pakistan was underway speedily and we were trying to implement the traffic diversion plan to continue construction work without affecting flow of traffic.
Administrator Karachi was informed that during construction works people especially transporters and businessmen were cooperating which shows that construction work of four flyovers will be completed on time.
Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed on this occasion said that these four flyovers were started to make Shahrah-e-Pakistan signal free to facilitate people.
He said that this central corridor connects inside roads due to which complaints of traffic jam were reported in past therefore it was necessary to resolve this problem and improve traffic flow. He said that completion of Corridor-V will facilitate the traffic of Marton Road, Lasbella, PIB Colony, Nazimabad, Azizabad, Ancholi, Karimabad and Super highway.
Administrator Karachi directed that all resources for construction of four flyovers at Shahrah-e-Pakistan were being utilized which will help completing the projects on time.
