Administrator Karachi reviews development work of Malir Halt/Malir 15 flyover

Karachi, February 11, 2014 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui said in order to carry out construction work of flyovers at Malir Halt and Malir 15, surrounding traffic was diverted to alternate ways from Wednesday. This would also enable immediate start of preparation of piles for the flyovers. Load testing with was also being done at these sites.

He said this while reviewing the initial development works during a visit to Malir Halt and Malir 15 along with the Director General Engineering Niaz Ahmed Soomro, Project Directors Khalid Masroor, S.M Taha and other officers and engineers.

In a briefing to the Administrator, it was informed that the initial works were being completed and the traffic was diverted to alternate route to ensure swift and hurdle free work.

Administrator Karachi said these projects which cost about Rs1billion were holding much importance for the city and their early completion would facilitate the traffic running between the Sharae Faisal and National Highway and solve the old traffic jam problem on these two locations.

He said the flyover at Malir 15 will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs532million whereas the cost of Malir Halt flyover was Rs386million.

He said KMC was making all efforts to complete the development projects within the stipulated time and the construction of these two flyovers will also be done speedily.
