Lahore, November 11, 2014 (PPI-OT): Former LCCI Vice President Aftab Ahmed Vohra has demanded of the government to resume trade between Pakistan and India through Wagha border in full swing immediately. In a statement issued here Tuesday, Aftab Ahmed Vohra said that through the security forces took appreciable security measures after recent tragic incident at Wagah Border but mutual trade should not be limited. He said that trade should be resumed soon after parade at Wagah.
He urged the NLC authorities to build a separate road for trade activities at Wagha border. He also urged the concerned authorities to restore the office of clearing agents immediately. Aftab Vohara stressed the need for developing a joint mechanism on both sides to counter such acts, and Pakistan’s economy will be the ultimate loser.
He said that trade and other issues should be dealt with separately and nothing should disrupt business activities. He said that long queues of trucks were seen on both sides of border, waiting for trade to reopen while several perishable items were perishing due to long delay.
