Islamabad: Minister of State for Interfaith Harmony and Minority Affairs, Akram Masih Gill has said Pakistan and Japan should evolve a joint strategy in reference with interfaith harmony to promote relations between both the countries.
The Minister of State expressed these views in a meeting with Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Oe who called on him here on Tuesday.
The Minister urged to exchange delegations for the promotion of inter-religious harmony in order to creating understanding and accommodation among the different societies.
High level visits and exchange of delegations would help strengthen the people to people relationship between Pakistan and Japan which indeed is everlasting as the Government to Government and people to people level ties between Pakistan and Japan, greatly facilitated to build up a dependable partnership in various sectors of cooperation, he added.
He said Pakistan has launched a number of development projects for the welfare of the minorities. But being an underdeveloped country, we are also in need of assistance of international communities for the purpose.
The Minister sought the help of Japan to solve the issue of energy crisis in Pakistan like that it is extending help in the field of technology.
The minister expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property following tsunami in Japan and thanked to the Ambassador for Japanese Government’s resolve to continue playing role in the development of Pakistan despite deadly earthquake and tsunami in their own country.
