Lahore: This was decided by Inspector General of Police Punjab Mohammad Habib ur Rehman while presiding over a high level meeting held at PHQ, Lahore, today. RPO Multan Mubarak Athar, RPO Bahawalpur Abid Qaddari, RPO DG Khan Muhammad Nawaz Warraich, CPO Multan and DPOs of Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, D.G. Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah and Rajanpur were present in this meeting.
Issues relating to arrests of most wanted PO’s, controlling abduction for ransom, identification of No Go areas and strategy to clear them, control of firing in weddings, control of criminal activities in hotels, interaction with judiciary, proposal for improvement of prosecution and strategy to improve the security of the banks were discussed in the meeting.
Implementation of IGP’s directives relating to Thikri Pehera, Establishment of Crimes Investigation Agency, Holding of Open Courts on daily basis and setting up one Model Police Station in each sub-division were reviewed in the meeting.
While chairing another high level meeting relating to analysis of crime situation in Lahore, Provincial Police Chief has directed the CCPO Lahore and DIG Operations, Lahore that they themselves should come forward and take personal interest to control the crime rate of the metropolitan city. He directed them to increase the deployment in high criminal zones of Lahore.
He also instructed to beefed up patrolling activities and ensured that the criminals would be taken to task on the Pickets instead of innocent citizens. AddI. IGP/CTD Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhehera, AddI. IGP/Special Branch Nasir Khan Durrani, DIG/Operations Punjab Sohail Kahn, DIG/Operations Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, Deputy Director R and D Faisal Raja and PSO to IGP, Fiaz Ahmad attended the meeting.
AddI. IG/CTD and AddI. IG/Special Branch also briefed the IGP regarding terrorism, Jehaddi and sectarian organizations, their links and network operating in various areas of the province.
IGP also hold a third high level meeting in PHQ today, in which the security of the shrines and holy places of the Punjab was reviewed. Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs, RPO Multan, RPO Bahawalpur, RPO D.G. Khan and CPO Multan were also present in the meeting.
IGP directed to the participants for doing fool proof security arrangements on the shrines, Imam Bargahs and holy places so that the devotees can perform their religious activities peacefully.
Later, IGP rushed to Islamabad where he attend a meeting of selection board for the promotion of SPs from grade 18 to 19 tomorrow morning.
