Baligh calls for provision of Quranic education in provincial schools

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman has urged to ensure the provision of Quranic education in schools as government already passed the law regarding it.

He was talking to Caretaker Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Barrister Syed Azfar Ali Nasir in Lahore on Saturday.

Expressing displeasure over not providing Quranic education in schools, he directed to implement this law in letter and spirit.

He also asked to ensure the transparent distribution of Zakat to the deserving people especially in those areas where poverty rate is very high.

On his part, the Caretaker Minister said that effective measures are being taken for the security and renovation of shrines in the province.
