Karachi: Sister of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, President PPP(Women Wing) Pakistan and MNA Ms. Faryal Talpur hailed BISP for bringing positive socio-economic impacts on millions of poor people especially women folk. She said this while speaking on the eve of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Waseela-e-Haq Cheque Distribution Ceremony and Waseela-e-Haq Sindh Distribution of Business Plan, at President House Naudero, on Thursday.
She vowed to eliminate the poverty from the society. She said that Benazir Income Support Programme was launched in line with the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto wanted to empower the poor, she added. She has said that under the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to empowerment of women and the women may be provided economic stability in the society, the program was launched under the Special directives of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari. She said that the women in Sindh are struggling for their livelihood; they are looking of their children and work hard in the field. She added that they political opponents always criticizing on the PPP, what they given to the people in their tenure only they are against the PPP that our party is the party of poor and its roots are in the people at grass root level. Madam Faryal Talpur also said that Waseela-e-Haq, besides Waseela-e-Health, Waseela-e-Education program are continue under the Benazir Income Support Program and each poor women/ widow are being provided an amount of Rs. 1000 each, so that the poor women also be able to their lively hood. She also said that to illuminate the poverty from the society. The Benazir Income Support Program was started. She also added that Waseela-e-Haq initiative is basically designed to promote self employment among women beneficiaries in order to improve their lively hood.
The Madam Faryal Talpur also said that an amount of Rs. 3 Lac long term interest free financial assistance to randomly selected beneficiary families. She also said that interest free loan to jobless youth for initiating their own business under Benazir Income Support Program would not only improve the socio economic condition of the beneficiaries. 35 thousand jobless youth have been selected through balloting by President Asif Ali Zardari for grant of interest free loan up to Rs. 3 lac, so that they could launch their own business.
On the occasion Sindh Minister for Law and Prisons affairs Muhammad Ayaz Soomro has said that Present PPP Government under Benazir Income Support Program has determined to empowerment of women and under Waseela-e-Haq Program the women will be able to start their small business in their feet, the various initiatives of Benazir Income Support Program Waseela-e-Health, Waseela-e-Education which are designed to uplift the living standard of poor and enable them to achieve financial help self-sustainability. He said the Sindh government has approved an amount of Rs. 12 Billions in order to 35 thousands the youth will be benefited in this program.
Director BISP Larkana Division Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio explained the various initiatives of BISP i.e. Waseela-e-Haq, Waseela-e-Sehat, Waseela-e-Rozgar as well as Waseela-e-Taleem which are designed to uplift the living standards of poor and to enable them to achieve financial self-sustainability. BISP has introduced numerous revolutionary steps to bring about a socio-economic change in the society and to eliminate poverty from the country on long term basis. He said that BISP has introduced modern delivery mechanisms i.e. Mobile Phone banking and Smart Cards to ensure transparent and effective disbursement of financial assistance among the beneficiary families. He said that the basic theme of BISP is to empower the women and to exterminate the poverty from the country and this programme was started to fulfil the revelation of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He said the programme is being upgraded to assist maximum people in highly effective way. He said the women who acquired the cheques underwent training programme. The beneficiary women were provided special training in order to enable them to begin their businesses. He further added that BISP to distribute cash grants amongst the poor of eligible BISP families through “Benazir Cards” throughout the country in contribution with the Banks instead of post offices to avoid delays and other complaints in the present delivery mechanism. BISP was directed to adopt more efficient and technologically advanced mechanism of delivering BISP funds through the BC.
In the Last MNA Faryal Talpur, Sindh Law Minister Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Director General BISP Sindh Zafarullah Khan Somroo, Deputy Commissioner Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari distributed Waseela-e-Haq Cheque amongst the 113 Beneficiaries under Waseela-e-Haq Scheme of Benazir Income Support Programme. Each beneficiary gets a cheque of 150,000 from the chief guest’s.
