Karachi, March 21, 2016 (PPI-OT): British High Commissioner Mr Thomas Drew called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad at Governor’s House here on Monday. In a meeting, they exchanged views on bilateral ties, trade, investment and other important issues. The Pakistani products have great demand in Britain; therefore bilateral trade needs to be raised. British investment will help decrease poverty and increase employment in Pakistan as well as the whole area. He said: “Pakistan Army has been fighting against terrorism and extremism and also maintaining peace in the region, thus, it is sacrificing for whole world and now the world has accepted them.”
There is dire need to initiate bilateral trade with Britain for stability, good mutual relationship, poverty alleviation and unemployment, said Ebad. He said after restoration of peace in the province and Karachi, trend of international investment has increased and this is the prime time to take full benefit from it.
On the occasion, British High Commissioner Thomas said that as majority of companies earning profit via investment in different sectors in Pakistan particularly in Sindh and other cities like Karachi, the Britain is interested to invest into the energy and solid waste. British Deputy High Commissioner Mr John A Tucknott was also present on the occasion.
