Cairo: Governor Sindh, Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, on Sunday telephoned Ansar Burney and discussed current situation for the release of hostages in the captivity of Somali pirates.
Chairman Ansar Burney Trust International and former federal minister for human rights told the governor that the hostages would reach homes by June 20. He attended a meeting in this regard here on Sunday.
The Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden hijacked MV Suez on August 2, 2010, with 4 Pakistani, 6 Indians, 1 Sri Lankan and 11 Egyptians on board.
Burney said that if the situation in Yemen deteriorated further the captives would be brought to any nearby port. He refused to give any precise date for the release citing security reasons.
