Lahore, November 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): President Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi has said that China has failed the attempt of enemies of Pakistan to create trust deficit between the two nations. In a statement issued by him from Shehngai today, he said that the current leadership is working diligently to gain Chinese support and confidence on the projects whose outcomes would be visible and bright in a shorter period of time.
He observed that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, during his current visit to China was successful to remove misunderstandings created due to political unrest in the country and compensate postponement of Chinese premiere’s visit to Pakistan in September last. During his visit, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif oversaw the signing of 19 agreements including a remarkable investment worth $42 billion in Pakistan mostly centered on the energy sector.
While appraising the efforts of Pakistani Premier for overcoming energy shortage, Faisal Afridi said that Energy had remained on the top of the prime minister’s agenda, ever since he assumed his charge in June last year.
The important projects to be completed with the Chinese help include 1,320 megawatts Sino Hydro Resource Project, two 660 megawatts Sahiwal Coal Fired Projects, 2,330 megawatts Engro Thar Coal Fire Project, 1320 megawatts each, Muzaffargarh Coal Power, Rahim Yar Khan, SSRL Thar coal projects and Thar Mine Mouth Oracle projects, 1,000 megawatts SSRL Thar Coal Block 62,640 megawatts Gaddani Power Park Project, 300 megawatts Gwadar Coal, 100 megawatts Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, 50 megawatts Dawood Wind Farm, 100 megawatts UEP Wind Farm, 50 megawatts Sachal Wind Farm, 50 megawatts Sunnec Wind Farm, 870 megawatts Suki Kinari Hydropower Station,720 megawatts Karot Hydropower Station and others, explained Afridi.
He expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese leadership for reassuring to undertake all of the previous and future projects for economic uplift of Pakistan. By this way Chinese leadership has again proved to be the “Iron Friend “ of Pakistan, who is genuinely interested in stability and prosperity of Pakistan, Afridi added.
Mr. Faisal Afridi assured of the fullest cooperation on behalf of PCJCCI for providing the maximum facilities to Chinese investors coming to Pakistan including, business matchmaking, prospecting company formation, facilitation in govt related tasks and further bridging the communication gap by imparting Chinese language skills and Chinese work ethics to promote bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries.
He further stated that, PCJCCI will organize different workshops and seminars to identify the potential areas of investment and trade promotions, in near future on the invitation of PCJCCI, a high profile business delegation is visiting Pakistan for excavating the potential areas of investment.
PCJCCI has already arranged seminars and meetings in exploring the joint venture prospects in the meat, Rice, Furniture, carpets, agriculture (Eco- Farming), gems and jewellery and energy sector, added Afridi.
He asserted that the need of the hour is that business community along with the leadership of both countries should work hands in gloves for cementing the traditional Sino-Pak relationship with an exclusive focus on the economic prosperity of both.
“With Chinese investment, Pakistan’s economy is set to take off and flourish generating numerous employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan, especially the youth” stated Afridi.
