China has reported sixty thousand Covid-related deaths in just over a month.
According to officials, most of those who died were above 80, with most having underlying symptoms.
Meanwhile, in his phone conversation with a senior Chinese health official, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom lauded the Chinese government’s efforts to cope with the COVID-19 epidemic.
The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation on epidemic prevention and control, and jointly maintain global health security.
