Karachi: NBP has selected Fidelity Information Service’s CBA system which is globally used software system designed for large banks with transaction size of over 500, 000 per day.
Being the largest bank of the country it is NBP’s top most priority to automate the Bank’s operations in the wake of fierce competition. The quality of service to gain customer efficiency is defined by the shortest possible response time to customers.
Besides a major share of the private sector business NBP is proud to be the largest provider of financial services to the Government of Pakistan Hence it is imperative that the bank pursues automation as its top priority.
NBP entered into agreement with this globally renowned company in September 2008 after NAB closed the enquiry and issued its clearance, advising the bank to proceed with its automation program.
NBP is aiming to automate various branch banking instruments such as, over the counter transactions, inter branch payments, PO and DD issuance, internal funds transfer, clearance inward and outward, inter-city clearance and so forth.
The first phase of the project encapsulates Core Banking, Trade Finance, Treasury, HR and Finance Management, Loan Origination, Islamic Banking and Internet Banking as well as deployment of 250 key branches. The CBA project once implemented shall bring significant automation and efficiency into all respective core areas of the bank including Customer Services, Accounts Automations, Internet Banking, Loan Origination Automation as well as effective Risk Mitigation and Internal Controls.
The CBA vendor, FIS has completed the requirements analysis and design phases of the project. The development phase is near completion and is currently under User Acceptance Testing. SAP Human Resource Payroll, SAP G/L is live in Avari Tower on the new CBA. SAP G/L for the Head office is planned to be live by June 2012. In addition, reporting MIS tool has been live since June 2011. An overseas branch in KSA is also live since 2010.
