Islamabad: “Legal profession entails onerous responsibility. The legal fraternity should work hard to enhance their capabilities to strengthen the profession”, said the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary while talking to an 8 Member delegation of Gilgit Baltistan Chief Court Bar Association headed by its Vice President Mr. Wazir Farman Ali Shigri and consisting of other office bearers who called on Honourable Chief Justice today i.e. 13.03.2012 in Supreme Court Building, Islamabad.
The delegation lauded untiring efforts of the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary for entraining the petitions of aggrieved and suppressed people and dispensing justice as permissible under the constitution and law.
They further praised that under the leadership of Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan the judiciary has delivered justice and justice is seen to be done. The grievances of public at large are being redressed promptly due to the steps taken by the Honourable Chief Justice. The Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan reciprocated the sentiments and said that justice should be done because it is the born right of everyone in society and without justice a society cannot sustain.
The members discussed the issues and matters of interest of legal/judicial fraternity and told that public confidence in courts have enhanced due to speedy justice being provided at the doorsteps of the public at large.
They also informed him about the hardships faced by them at Gilgit Baltistan like lack of family courts and quota in government jobs. They also informed that there is an acute dearth of educational institutions to impart education to indigenous people.
At the end, the delegation thanked the Honourable Chief Justice for finding time for them and invited to visit Gilgit Baltistan Chief Court Bar Association. The Honourable Chief Justice conveyed his gratitude and extended his thanks.
