Islamabad: After publication of Preliminary Electoral Rolls, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Nasir, MNA NA-263, Tehsil Dukki, District Loralai and Syed Mattiullah Agha, Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly Balochistan filed complaints in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding abnormal increase in the registered voters in Tehsil Dukki, District Loralai. The ECP took immediate action about this serious issue and ordered NADRA and Provincial Election Commissioner (PEC), Balochistan to look into the matter and report without any delay.
In response, the PEC, Balochistan conducted an inquiry through District Election Commissioner (DEC), Loralai, wherein, it was confirmed that such abnormal increase has been noticed in various Blocks.
Moreover, NADRA conducted detailed analysis of the complaints using their biometrix database and revealed that thousands of Form “Alif” and Form-II were filled in by a few individuals to migrate voters across Pakistan to Tehsil Dukki, District Loralai. NADRA further added that the same trend has also been observed in District Kachhi, Lasbela, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad and Khairpur where voter migration was carried out without the consent of voters.
In this regard, NADRA has furnished the names of following individuals who were involved in the said malpractice through their finger prints imposed on Form “Alif” and Form-II.
The Election Commission has taken a very serious notice of the issue and has ordered that an exemplary and strict disciplinary/criminal action must be initiated against the culprits involved to ensure the transparency and fairness of the Electoral Rolls at any cost.
