Islamabad, November 06, 2014 (PPI-OT): Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir leader and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Abdul Hamid Lone has strongly condemned the detention of party Chairman, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash and other Hurriyet leaders and killing of two civilians by Indian troops at Chattergam in Badgam. Abdul Hamid Lone in a statement, expressing solidarity with the victim families of Faisal Ahmad Butt and Mehraj-u-din Dar, appealed to the international human rights bodies including UNHRC and Amnesty International to take notice of the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
He said that the sentiment of the people of Kashmir couldn’t be weakened through killings, arrests, detentions, restrictions and other repressive tactics. He deplored that India had converted Kashmir into a military garrison where its forces under black laws were committing gross human rights violations.
He, while expressing serious concern over the deteriorating health of the detained Hurriyet leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Zafar Akbar Butt and Shabbir Ahmad Dar urged the world community to take strict notice of it.
