Lahore: DHL Express, the world’s leading express provider, today marks its 30th anniversary in Pakistan, celebrating three successful decades of providing unparalleled services and innovative logistics solutions to exporters and importers in the country.
DHL’s commitment to Pakistan over the last 30 years has seen business evolve and expand over the years. Established in 1982, DHL was the first international express company to provide exporters with fast-tracked international express service. Since then, the company has grown into an organization of over 500 employees.
Today, DHL Express Pakistan also has a fleet of over 120 vehicles and an extensive network of over 50 Service Points across 22 cities in the country. In 2009, DHL inaugurated its Airside Facility at Jinnah Airport Karachi. Built at a cost of USD$5 million, it provides cutting-edge logistics handling and in-house customs clearance to DHL Express Pakistan’s growing customer base and is the only facility of its kind in the country.
“DHL Express is the undisputed leader in the international express delivery market in Pakistan,” says Mr. Jerry Hsu, Chief Executive Officer of DHL Express Asia Pacific. “Our diverse base of 4,000 customers – ranging from small and medium enterprises to large local and multinational corporations – relies heavily on us to provide door-to-door express services to over 220 countries and territories across the world.
We remain committed to helping companies in Pakistan grow and expand internationally and look forward to realising the potential this market has for the future.”
Mr. Sarfaraz Siddiqui, Managing Director of DHL Express Pakistan, adds, “Celebrating 30 years of service in Pakistan is a remarkable achievement for DHL Express. Our journey over the years has been one of many proud milestones and moments.
We have consistently focused on operational excellence which has helped us to provide the best possible service. We will continue to further strengthen our leadership position and create unrivalled value for our customers.”
Besides contributing to market development, DHL Pakistan has always been committed to giving back to the communities in which it operates in. In 2005, DHL leveraged its international air and road network and mobilized its employees to provide relief efforts to the victims of the Kashmir earthquake. In 2010, DHL Pakistan provided medical assistance, food, shelter and livestock to the flood victims during one of the country’s worst hit disasters.
“DHL Pakistan is driven by its employees and its customers. Our pioneering spirit is channelled through our employees who enable us to offer the best possible solutions to our customers so that they realise their business goals. We nurture innovation and practical thinking in our employees, enabling us to be well-positioned to meet any challenge the future may bring,” concludes Mr. Siddiqui.
