Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has developed a Supplementary Reading Material highlighting basic information on animal rights for young children.
The material has been developed on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in connection with World Animal Rights Day to be observed tomorrow.
Initially one thousand copies will be printed immediately for sharing among the primary school students from selected schools of Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad.
Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer Hussain who was chief guest at launching ceremony said this material will help young children adopt respectful behaviour towards animals.
He said the material covers basic concepts of animal rights, different forms of abuse and neglect, Islamic principles of animal care and legal aspects of animal rights. It also includes strategies to ensure the protection of animals.
