Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani while commiserating with MNA, Engr. Amir Muqam on the loss of innocent lives and injuries to may in a suicide attack just before the start of his jalsa, said that these cowardly acts could not deter the government from pursuing the policy to root out the terrorists from the country.
He expressed these views in a meeting with Engr. Amir Muqam, MNA who called on him at PM’s House here this afternoon.
The Prime Minister said that enlightened political leadership of the country has been deliberately targeted by the militants as they urge restraint and talk reason. He said that it clearly shows the intention and agenda of the terrorists who are against the development and progress of the country.
The Prime Minister appreciated the political leadership of the country for their steadfastness against the anti-state elements. He specially mentioned Engr. Amir Muqam for his continued efforts to work for the welfare of the people of Kohistan and other remote region of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite several threats from the militants. He assured the Government’s full support and provision of security to the Federal Minister.
The overall development schemes initiated in the remote regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the Government were discussed in the meeting. Engr. Amir Muqam also proposed new projects for the uplift of these areas.
The Prime Minister directed for preparation of feasibility report on the proposals of Mr. Amir Muqam. He asked the him to personally monitor the ongoing development activities in his area.
Engr. Amir Muqam thanked the Prime Minister for his interest in the uplift of the remote and under-developed areas.
