Islamabad: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has asked the Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) to benefit from modern technologies in housing building projects which would not only bring down the cost of the housing units but also upgrade their standard.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting to reviews the progress on the housing scheme being undertaken by Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA), in various parts of the country, here today.
The Minister said that government has embarked upon an ambitious programme to provide shelter to all its citizens living in every nook and corner of the country on affordable cost under Prime Minister’s Housing for everyone. He directed the PHA to gear up its efforts for launching more low cost housing schemes across the country which would not only to overcome housing shortage problem but also help to raise the living standard of the people.
Faisal Saleh Hayat appreciated the endeavours of PHA for making the Prime Minister’s Housing programme successful despite limited resources. The meeting was informed that PHA would hand over the possession of flats constructed in G-10/2 sector to its allotees by August 2011 and 90% work on construction of flats in G-10/3, and G-11/3 have been completed.
PHA has also informed that flats for BS. 17 to 19 government officers were being constructed in I-12 sector on 15 acres of land acquired from CDA and 1607 flats in I-16 sector Islamabad to be constructed for officials and general public. It was also revealed in the meeting that 1st phase of construction of PHA flats in Gulshan-e-Mamar in Karachi has also been completed.
Secretary Housing and Works Raja Abbas and Senior Officials of PHA and the Ministry also attended the meeting.
