Srinagar, March 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference and the forum patronized by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, have condemned in strong terms the recent remarks of the President of pro-India National Conference, Dr Farooq Abdullah, that Kashmiris are the biggest thieves of electricity.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar asked Farooq Abdullah to do self-retrospection before humiliating Kashmiris and hurting their self-respect. “Kashmiris are not thieves. Real thieves are the politicians who have looted the natural resources and exploited the masses politically and economically,” he said.
The APHC spokesman said that Dr Abdullah and his party during their rule made the people to suffer immensely on the financial front and for their personal interests as they sold the water and financial resources of the territory.
He stated that Dr Abdullah was also responsible for the hardships and sufferings, the Kashmiri people were facing presently. “Those responsible for imposing anti-people laws and policies on Kashmiris must do self-retrospection rather than levelling allegations against common masses,” he added.
The spokesman of Syed Ali Gilani’s form in his statement described Dr Farooq Abdullah’s remarks as an insult to all Kashmiris. “This man cannot give sermons on honesty as his own life is full of dishonesty. He thinks all other people are also thieves. Dr Abdullah and his family have been humiliating Kashmiris in every way and on every occasion,” he maintained.
The forum spokesman pointed out that Abdullahs and their party started liking people only when they had to get votes. “For their personal and family interests they sold everything in Kashmir to Delhi. His life is full of scandals. This person has described Kashmiris as thieves and levelling such allegations is in his nature. One must not expect anything good from him,” he added.
