Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the finance team has worked very hard in preparing a balanced and people friendly budget. He expressed the confidence that the budget would pave the way for future growth of the economy and well-being of the people of the country.
The Prime Minister was talking to Federal Minister for Finance, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh who called on him at his Parliament House Chamber here this evening.
The Prime Minister said that keeping in view of the past three years performance of the Parliament, a meaningful and positive debate is expected on the budget proposals. He added that proposals from any side for bringing improvement in the budget would be welcomed by the government.
Talking to Minister for Religious Affairs, Syed Khursheed Shah, who was also present in the meeting, the Prime Minister said that coordination among the coalition partners would be enhanced for generating positive debate on budget. He said that due time would be provided to opposition to express their point of view in the budget debate
Mian Manzoor Watto, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan was also present in the meeting.
The Prime Minister in a separate meeting with Senator Wasim Sajjad at his Parliament House Chamber, said that all coalition partners would be consulted from time to time on all important national issues. He said that government would take benefit from professional acumen of technocrats in the Upper House for bringing improvement in formulating the public policies.
