Islamabad: Students and young people are our real assets and their commitment to follow traffic rules can help a lot to police in ensuring safe road environment.
It was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood here Thursday while addressing at the concluding ceremony of one-day road safety workshop at Islamabad College for Girls sector F-6/2.
Over 450 female students attended this workshop and were delivered lecture about traffic rules by the education team of Islamabad Traffic Police headed by Inspector Mehfooz Kianai. Students showed keen interest in this workshop and raised very important questions to get them acquainted with traffic rules.
SSP Islamabad Dr. Moeen Masood addressed them at the final session of road safety workshop and said that young people are our real assets and their hard work can ensure bright future for the country. He said that the ITP is doing its best for ensuring a safe road environment in the federal but the cooperation of students can help us a lot in achieving this objective as they are our future generation.
The SSP said that female students must tell their family member and friends about the importance of following traffic rules and help us in making this city accident-free.
It is to mention that ITP has been arranging lectures at various educational, government and non-government institutions, aiming to inculcate traffic sense among the people. This workshop was a sequel of this program that would be further extended to the main education institutions.
This exercise would prove helpful in providing disciplined traffic system to the masses, the SSP (Traffic) added.
He said that ITP was also endeavoring to control rash driving and over-speeding in the e city while conducting inspection through radars, to control such practices.
On the occasion, the SSP awarded to five female students who got positions in painting contest in Family Gala arranged by ITP at F-9 park on May 14-15.
ITP in collaboration with City Lab and Atlas Honda also organized blood test group camps at this college where hundreds of students visited to get confirmation about their blood group.
Principal ICG F-6/2 Shaista Pirzada appreciated the efforts of ITP and said that force has improved the image of policing and ensured community policing through public co-operation as well as eliminated VIP culture.
