Srinagar, February 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has reiterated the call for boycott of upcoming farcical elections in the territory and urged the people to convey a message to the world community that they have no interest in exercise and want their birthright to self-determination.
Syed Ali Gilani addressing a gathering in Shopian over telephone from New Delhi said that India wanted to stage the elections in presence of its 7.5 lac troops and to project the drama as a referendum at the international forums.
Strongly condemning the arrest of a dozens of youth in Bandipora, the veteran Hurriyet leader said that Indian police were disturbing the peace by detaining the innocent youth in police stations. He demanded immediate release of all illegally detained youth.
“Some police officers want to be more loyal than the king and are detaining youth without any reason. These police officers only care for their promotions and medals and for this they can go to any extent,” he maintained.
Syed Ali Gilani said that India wanted to continue its illegal hold on Kashmir with military might but it would not succeed in its nefarious designs, as it couldn’t deceive the world community for long.
