Karachi, November 25, 2014 (PPI-OT): A privately owned land of approximately 500 acres located in the close vicinity of main DHA (Gizri Creek) has been offered to DHA for acquisitioning. Procurement process is in its preliminary stage but no formal agreement has so for been made with any agency/party/person.
It is pertinent to note that before starting procurement process of the Gizri Creek land, title/ownership of the land has been thoroughly investigated. Public Notice has also been published in three different newspapers. NOC of sale has been obtained from the concerned revenue authorities. Multiple verifications from Board of Revenue Hyderabad and concerned revenue authorities in Karachi have also been done.
DHA Karachi wishes to clearly mention that assertions made by certain quarters in media related to Gizri Creek Land are one sided, unfounded and concocted. DHA being a responsible and discipline organization, never violates rules and regulations. All matters are handled in accordance with the official procedures. Transparency is ensured in all the deals/procedures at all levels.
DHA is an environment friendly organization and therefore well aware of importance of mangroves. Instead of cutting, DHA is planning a major initiative to enhance growth of mangroves around the creek areas adjacent to DHA.
Gizri Creek Land will only be acquired when it is cleared by all concerned departments, organizations agencies and court of law. Concerns related to public interest and preservation of nature will be addressed in the most befitting manner by DHA to make DHA and its neighbourhood clean and green.
