Karachi: Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has said that Shahra-e-Quaideen was an important corridor of city and its reconstruction would complete in next four months. Traffic flow on this road would be made better and a pedestrian bridge will be installed for convenience of citizens. He expressed these views while talking to media representatives in the foundation stone lying ceremony of Shahra-e-Quaideen.
He said pace of work on development projects in Karachi was much better now. Many of the under completion projects had been completed and some of the new ones were started in the current month.
Governor Sindh said Municipal Services Tax was not a new tax only the bills could not be distributed for some time and now these were delivered to citizens. He said various districts of Sindh had been charging municipal services for years while the cantonment boards also charging it. Replying a question Governor of Sindh said considerable progress was made regarding the municipal system and the process was continuing.
He said work on flyovers of Shahra-e-Faisal will also start this month for which funds were approved and the technical work had also been completed. On this occasion while giving briefing to Governor of Sindh, Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed said that both tracks of Shahra-e-Quaideen were being widened and the existing roundabouts on this road will be removed and replaced with two to three u turns at appropriate distance. Service road will also be constructed alongside the main track.
He said the completion date of this project was 30th June, however the 1.55km long and 7.8 meter wide corridor will be completed in next three to four months with a cost of Rs315million. He further informed that an alternate traffic plan was being implemented for this project and city wardens were deputed to save the public from any inconvenience
