Federal Minister for Power Khurram Dastgir Khan says government has decided to shift imported coal-based plant on Thar coal as reliance on imported fuel for power generation is not sustainable.
He was talking to Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Sheikh in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Khurram Dastgir Khan reiterated that Allah has blessed Pakistan with Thar coal and we must harness its potential. He said that hybrid plants on wind power will also be added in generating cheap electricity.
The meeting decided to create a working group between the federal and Sindh governments to determine modalities of provincialization of HESCO and SEPCO.
