Govt launches immunization campaign against COVID-19 for children aged b/w 5-11

Government has launched an immunization campaign against COVID-19 for children aged between five and eleven.

The campaign will continue till 24th of this month in Islamabad capital territory, Sindh and Punjab. Eight million children will be vaccinated during the campaign.

Addressing the launching ceremony in Islamabad on Monday, Minister for National Health Services Abdul Qadir Patel urged the teachers and parents to ensure that all children falling in the age bracket of five to eleven years are vaccinated.

He said Pakistan effectively handled the COVID-19 but the pandemic is not yet over.

The Minister stressed on the need to adopt preventive measures to control this pandemic.

He expressed his gratitude to the United States for supporting Pakistan in this regard.

Addressing the event, US Ambassador Donald Blome said we celebrate the next step in protecting all Pakistanis against this devastating disease by launching the pediatric vaccination campaign. 

He said our recent collaboration to protect the children of Pakistan demonstrates the importance of our longstanding partnership to work together and overcome the global challenge.
