Srinagar, March 08, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Parveena, the mother of 22-year Dawood Ahmad Sheikh who was martyred by Indian troops during a gunfight in Kulgam on Sunday, has said that she is really proud of being mother of a martyr. Parveena who sat huddled in the dark on the floor of a large room in her house, said, “Today he has attained the purpose of his life. He always wanted to die as a martyr. He left home to obey Allah’s command. I have no regret at all that he is not with me now.”
“Just two days back he came home and met me. He told me that he regrets that he didn’t serve me in this life but promised that he would accompany me in paradise,” Parveena, a widow, told media without even shedding a single tear. She said that Islam was Dawood’s only motivation and that he would wake up in the midst of night and used to cry during prayers. “Dawood was good at studies. He liked the science subject the most but upholding the Islamic values was always his priority,” recalled Parveena.
“Dawood had been repeatedly telling me not to shed tears over his death. I kept my promise. I am really a proud mother. He was an obedient son who vigorously followed the tenants of Islam,” she added. Recounting the memories, Parveena said that two days before his martyrdom, he had come to meet her. “His heart was filled with love for Kashmir,” Parveena added. Dawood was martyred by Indian troops during an encounter in Buchroo area of Kulgam district on Sunday.
