Srinagar, March 06, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party has said that despite exhausting all brutal tactics, India has failed to weaken the commitment of the Kashmiri people to their struggle for right to self-determination. This was observed during a meeting of party district presidents and representatives in Srinagar, today.
Senior DFP leader, Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar, while addressing the participants said, India has surpassed all records of tyranny and brutality on the people of Jammu and Kashmir, but the people would continue to offer invaluable sacrifices for the freedom of their motherland. Advocate Sodagar deliberated upon the prevailing political situation in the territory. He denounced the continuous detention of party Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Shah and other Hurriyet leaders.
“Putting the pro-freedom leadership under house arrest or detaining them in police stations is aimed at keeping the people away from the real leadership and to create a gulf between the leaders and masses,” Sodagar said.
Conveying the message of the incarcerated leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar said, “India has let loose the reign of terror and oppression upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Killings and arrests have become a routine and people feel suffocated as the whole territory has been turned into a virtual jail.”
The meeting was attended by DFP representatives and district presidents including Er Farooq Ahmad Khan, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Zahoor Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad Wani, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Amin, Abdul Gani, Masood Ahmad Bodah, Gilkaar Sahib, Peer Inayatullah, Mushtaq Ahmad, Muhammad Ibrahim, Sajad ul Haq and Tanveer Ahmad and Adv Fayaz.
