Srinagar, June 01, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their unabated acts of state terrorism martyred 10 Kashmiris including a child during the last month of May.
According to the data compiled by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, 225 persons were injured when Indian paramilitary forces and police personnel used brute force and pellet guns against peaceful protesters. As many as 537 civilians were arrested during the month.
Meanwhile, the troops killed a youth during siege and search operation in Handwara area of Kupwara district, today. An Indian Army spokesman tweeting out the information said that the youth was killed in a joint operation by Army and Police in Sodal area of Handwara.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a gathering at a Chattabal mosque in Srinagar, today, said that the unrelenting sacrifices being offered by the people for the Kashmir cause were a guarantee to the success of the freedom movement.
The Patron of Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi Muhammad Azam Inqilabi in a statement announced to support the Quit Kashmir call given by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik.
The US State Department in its Executive Summary of India 2013 Human Rights Report said that the illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails under draconian, Public Safety Act were denied access to lawyers and medical attention. The report said that even families were not allowed to meet the detainees.
APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement hailed the US State Department’s report and demanded immediate release of all pro-freedom leaders, activists and youth, detained during sham polls in the territory.
