Lahore: In order to root out the crime and to protect the lives and property of the citizens a comprehensive strategy should be adopted under which 15, CIA and Investigation should be made more effective and functional
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman while presiding over his maiden meeting with Lahore Police Officers. The meeting was held in CCPO Office Lahore, today.
CCPO Lahore, Ahmad Raza Tahir, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, DIG / Operations Lahore, Ali Amir Malik DIG / Investigation, Capt ® Sajjad Hasan Khan Manj, SSP / Operations Lahore, Abdul Razzaq Cheema SSP / Investigation Lahore and all SPs of Operations and Investigation were also present in the meeting.
While addressing to the Officers IGP said that the area of 15 service should be expended for the arrest of criminals in time. Similarly, the CIA department should be made more strengthen by appointing honest, professional and crime fighters in CIA department. He said that they should be provided the latest equipments and forensic technology for the timely arrest, identification and punishment of the criminals.
IGP further directed the Officers that without making investigation section independent, free and fair justice for the complainants could not be possible. Keeping in view the rise in population of Lahore setting up an independent Police Lines in four divisions is already under consideration. He said that in these Police Lines SP level officers would be given the powers of DPOs so that they could perform their professional duties without any interference.
Provincial Police Chief asked them that they should take steps for strengthening the CPLC with the cooperation of local business community for eliminating the crime from the city. IGP directed that they should do soft policing for innocent people whereas for the criminals it should be hard.
CCPO Lahore Ahmad Raza Tahir and other Police Officers told the IGP about the problems being faced by them in the fields. IGP assured them for his full cooperation in resolving their problems.
