Srinagar, November 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have imposed curfew and strict restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from participating in Muharram procession.
Restrictions have been imposed in the areas coming under police stations of Shaheed Gunj, Masiuma, Kothibagh, Batamaloo, Ram Munshi Bagh and Karan Nagar. The mourners tried to march towards the Residency road when the police intercepted them.
The curbs threw life out of gear across the city as people were caught in traffic snarls. Police have placed concertina wires at many entry and exit points causing inconvenience to people in the city.
On other hand , clashes broke out today between protestors and Indian forces in Nowgam area of the city over killing of two youths in Indian troops army firing in Budgam district of Kashmir even as authorities imposed restrictions on the movement of the people.
Indian troops fired on a local car and martyred two civilians and injured two others on Monday at Chattergam in Budgam.
