Islamabad Police host farewell for outgoing Inspector General Police

Islamabad: Officials of Islamabad police hosted farewell in the honour outgoing IGP Islamabad Wajid Ali Khan Durrani who has been assigned the responsibilities as IGP Sindh, a police spokesman said here Friday.

The farewell was attended by Chief Commissioner Islamabad Tariq Mehmood Pirzada, Deputy Commissioner Aamir Ahmed Ali, Session Judge Azam Akhtar Chughtai, DIG (Operations) Bani Amin Khan, DIG (Security) Dr. Mujeeb ur Rehman, DIG Headquarters Ahmed Mukarram, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, SSP Headquarters Zubair Ahmed Hashmi, SSP Abbas Ehsan, SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood, ASPs and DSPs and other officials of Islamabad police.

The outgoing IGP Wajid Ali Khan Durrani said that he tried his best to bring an improvement in policing system of Islamabad during his tenure. He said that it is part of job to get transfer from one position to another but the utmost effort should be to ensure such steps that can be remembered forever.

Wajid Ali Khan Durrani handed over the charge to DIG (Operations) Bani Amin who will serve as Acting IGP.

Addressing on the occasion, the IGP Wajid Ali Khan urged the police officials to facilitate their subordinates for maximum output. He said that low ranking officials especially constables are like backbone of the force and they must be treated by their bosses politely.

Acting IGP Bani Amin Khan appreciated the steps taken by Wajid Ali Khan Durrani to ensure community policing and said that his steps to make Islamabad police `unique and distinctive’ would be remembered forever.
