Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry appeals Prime Minister to intervene in Karachi Electric Supply Company issue

Web Desk June 13, 2011     No Comment     Uncategorized

Karachi: Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), , in a press note, stated that the Chamber is always prepared to promote peace and harmony in the city and provide a conducive environment to business. The escalating tension between KESC and CBA may lead to a serious law and order situation and unrest. The trade and commercial activities are severely hampered owing to prolonged load-shedding due to confrontation of KESC and CBA. The trade and commercial activities have come to a halt due to more than eight hours load-shedding in a day in many areas of Karachi.

KCCI appealed to the honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to kindly take notice and issue directives to the concerned parties to resolve matter amicably.

KCCI also termed the recent action of extra judicial killing by Rangers as “deplorable” and stated that such activity promotes crime.
