Karachi: Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s delegation led by Vice Chairman Businessmen Group and former Presidents KCCI Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Farooki and President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mian Abrar Ahmad called on Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Mumtaz Haider Rizvi at Customs House today and apprised about the taxation problems.
The KCCI delegation informed about the apprehensions by business and industrial community related to SRO 191(1)/2012 whereby Chairman FBR invited KCCI’s proposals in this regard and to broaden the tax-base. Issue of flying invoices and harassment to business community was also discussed.
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Mumtaz Haider Rizvi listened the grievances apprised by the KCCI delegation and sought KCCI suggestions and proposal in this regard for subsequent decision in the follow-up meeting scheduled in the next week. KCCI Delegation also requested Chairman FBR to open the Customs House and Custom-Bonded Warehouses on Saturdays which he agreed and announced that Customs House will remain open on Saturdays.
Vice Chairman Businessmen Group and former President KCCI Anjum Nisar, Senior Vice President Younus Muhammad Bashir, Vice President KCCI Zia Ahmed Khan, other representatives of KCCI Maqsood Ismail, Majeed Memon, Rafiq Bilwani, Jawaid Bilwani, Haroon Agar, Ibrahim Kasumbi, also participated in the meeting.
Member Inland Revenue FBR Shahid Hussain Asad and other FBR officials also participated in the meeting. Representatives of PHMA, PCDMA, PYMA, KISMA, Jodia Bazar and Paper Market also attended the meeting.
