Kuwait remains firm against the normalization of relations with Israel, as long as there is no justice and a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah affirmed on Sunday.
"It is painful that there is still doubt regarding the Kuwaiti position on the Palestinian issue," Al-Jarallah said in a statement to reporters after participating in a Flag Day ceremony at the Canadian embassy. He stressed that Kuwait's position has not changed and continues to be supportive of the Palestinian cause at all levels.
As a member of the United Nations Security Council, it is unreasonable for Kuwait not to participate in international conferences to protect the rights of the Palestinian people and discuss issues of concern in the region, Al-Jarallah noted.
Al-Jarallah pointed out that many issues affecting the Middle East were addressed at the Warsaw Summit held on February 13-14, therefore it is logical for Kuwait to participate and interact in such conferences.
