Islamabad, February 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah jointly presided over a high level law and order meeting at Chief Minister House, Karachi. The participants of meeting offered fateha over the loss of 13 people in Razakabad incidence and called them heroes of nation.
The Additional Chief Secretary Home, Government of Sindh, briefed about the ongoing state of targeted operation in Karachi. He informed that the targeted operation is going on in right direction and the Sindh government is going to take certain steps for further improvement.
The necessary steps which are taken by the Sindh government for expediting the pace of targeted operation are: Passage of Sindh Emergency Procurement Act-2014 for immediate purchase of bullet proof jackets; establishment of 5 Anti-terrorism Courts in Karachi; recruitment of investigation officers soon; and enhanced salary package for the policemen working in sensitive areas.
Chaudhry Nisar appreciated the role of law enforcement agencies for working in such an environment. He said that federal government is getting equipments from donor and it will provide due share to the provinces.
Chaudhry Nisar suggested the Sindh government for cooperating with the judiciary in order to avert the delay in cases. He added that both the Sindh government and the federal government are on the same page in the targeted operation but continual interaction is required for further success.
He desired for preparing a committee for continuous coordination between federal and Sindh government. The CM Sindh thanked the interior minister on visiting to Karachi in crucial time. State Minister for Railways Hakeem Baloch, Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, DG Rangers, IG Sindh etc attended the meeting.
