Kabul, March 11, 2014 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Abdul Qadir Baloch, called on President Hamid Karzai in Kabul today and conveyed the condolences and a message of sympathy on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan over the sad demise of the First Vice-President of Afghanistan, late Marshall Mohammad Qasim Fahim. He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan were brotherly countries and the people of Pakistan stood by Afghanistan in this hour of grief. He prayed to Almighty Allah to shower His blessings on the departed soul and grant courage and fortitude to the members of bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
The Minister was also accompanied by the Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Afghanistan, Syed Abrar Hussain, during the meeting. Earlier, the Minister, along with the Ambassador-designate, attended the funeral ceremony of late Marshall Mohammad Qasim Fahim at the Presidential Palace, Kabul.
