Islamabad, February 19, 2014 (PPI-OT): Minister of State for Education, Trainings and Standards in Higher Education, Mr. Muhammad Baligh-Ur-Rehman carried out surprise visit of Basic Education Community School (BECS), Trimna village, Chattar, and Muslim Colony Kachi Abadi, Islamabad, today along with the team from the Ministry, and Director General (BECS) Sajid Baloch.
The Minister of State expressed his satisfaction on running of non formal schools in backward areas. He asked questions from the students and teachers to assess the educational abilities of the students. He also met the community members and sought their feedback on the performance of these schools.
Baligh-ur-Rehman appreciated the commitment and hard work put in by the teachers and staff of BECS, despite the difficult conditions. He assured the students and teachers of BECS Schools of his full support, and reiterated that the PML (N) Government is fully committed to the cause of education and will leave no stone unturned to provide education particularly to the backward areas to ensure social equity.
He directed the Ministry officials and DG to urgently resolve the issues of release of funds and honorarium for teachers from concerned authorities. He expressed the opinion that BECS Non-Formal schools play a vital role in ensuring that no child remains out of school, and noted that BECS has shown marked improvement. He expressed the hope that they will further improve their quality and outreach in close co-ordination with the community.
