Karachi: Provincial Minister for Information Technology Raza Haroon said various organizations have set up a great example of unity of command during ongoing clean and green Karachi campaign. On the appeal of Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain, Citizens have played important role in making this drive successful. We pay tribute to Pak Army and Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on the release of hostages of MV Suez.
He expressed these views during a meeting with more than 300 school children of Lyari Town in Karachi Zoo. The children were taking part in the cleanliness drive of city government.
EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam, Lyari Town Administrator Aslam Raessi, D.O Zoo Mansoor Qazi and other officers were also present on this occasion
Provincial minister said today Lyari Town School children have by participating in cleaning work here, proved that the people of Lyari were playing their role in the positive and constructive activities.
He said Karachi Zoo which is a historical place should be made more beautiful and green so that the people coming here for recreation found it a calm and clean place.
While talking to media representative Raza Haroon said 15 day cleanliness drive was aimed at pinpointing faults in the sanitation system of city besides making it a clean and green place to live.
He said a major portion of garbage generated in city had been dumped at landfill site and if people continued their help, this campaign would be continued in all 365 days of the year.
He asked the people to own their city and keep their backyards; streets and areas clean like they did in their homes.
The minister said we pay tribute to Pak Army, PNS Babar, PNS Zulfiqar and Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on the release of Captain Wasi and others who were made hostages by Somali pirates.
He said Lyari town had despite of having more problems and fewer resources, taking part in the present cleanliness drive and all the garbage generated in town was being shifted to landfill sites.
District Officer Zoo Mansoor Qazi on this occasion gave a briefing to minister about Karachi Zoo.
